Naomi's Nest - Embrace Being Separated From An Unlawful Situation
To All My Spiritual Daughters,
Today I am here to encourage you. We were all born in sin, meaning that sometimes we may fall into an unlawful situation. Listen, you cannot allow that to define your future. For Romans 7:6 says, "But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit."
In the book of Ruth, we see Oprah and Ruth, both daughter-in-laws to Naomi. Oprah's only connection to Naomi was through the law of marriage. Ruth's connection, however, was in the Spirit, as she was willing to serve the same God as Naomi, Ruth 1:16.
One of the law's purposes was to tutor us until we came into the spirit. When we do fall into unlawful situations we have 2 choices. We can be like Oprah and stay trapped in our minds, or we can be like Ruth and be free in our minds! When you really think about it, you realize, both these women had the same opportunity, which was to walk away from their unlawful situation and choose to get their life in line with God. Oprah chose to return to what was familiar, her past conditions. In contrast, Ruth chose her faith and believed in the God that she could not see.
God wants us to disconnect with whatever unlawful situations we may have fallen into. We cannot claim it. We cannot live in it. We will not dwell in it. We are not embarrassed by it. And we will NOT be held captive by it. God's Spirit gives us life. Embrace being separated from that unlawful situation. It was all God!
Love,
